Spring 2022

Hello everyone, we hope you had a blessed Holy week and Easter weekend, and are enjoying this new Spring season. We are excited to share how God has been moving here in Costa Rica over the past few months!

The church is continuing to grow and we are excited to see people applying for membership and committing to serving where they are able. With such a large group of young children within the church right now, we are very thankful for a few more members who have started helping teach Sunday school each week. An exciting addition to the church building recently is a small café area which allows us to have a time of fellowship each week around coffee and cookies. It is encouraging to see this seemingly simple addition foster an environment for people to connect more and build deeper relationships within the church family. On Sunday mornings Esteban is currently leading the church through the book of 2 Corinthians, and in the adult Sunday school hour Brandon has started a series on practical hermeneutics. We love to see people get excited about learning about how to know, read and interpret the Bible correctly. We have even been incorporating some sword drills into the morning, which is always a fun way to start a class!

While the country is still slowly removing restrictions surrounding the pandemic, masks and hand-washing stations are still in effect in public places. Until recently, certain travel restrictions coming into the country were still in place, making it difficult for the church groups we normally receive to be able to come. We were sad to have multiple groups cancel their trips for this year, but look forward to returning groups in the future!

This past month we were excited to receive a few different visitors in our home! A family from our ministry in San Jose made the trip up to see us and meet Jackson. It was such a special time to be able to reconnect with this sweet family for a few days. Soon after, the Hoover family arrived for a week of quality time and a trip to the beach. It is always encouraging to be able to spend time with family and to see Jackson be able to get to interact with family members when we get the chance. We look forward to some more friends and family who are planning trips within the next few months.

At home, Brandon is working hard in his studies with Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He hopes to receive his master’s degree in biblical studies by completing one class at a time (in Spanish!), as life in ministry and on the farm allow for it. It is exciting to see how he is able to use what he is studying and learning to actively pour into ministry work and in the lives of the people around us. Jackson is keeping us both on our toes as he continues to grow and is so close to walking! He turned one year old just this past weekend, and we are so thankful for this special year we have been blessed with as a family.

Please continue to pray for us as we serve here in Santa Rosa, Costa Rica. We love seeing the church and ministry grow, and are honored to be a part of the work God is doing here. Please pray for continued growth and commitment in our church members

As always, we want give a huge thank you to our financial support team! The support we have received throughout this past year has been such a blessing to our family and ministry, and we know we would not be where we are without all of you who give towards and pray for us. If you would like to join our team and be a part of what God is at work doing here, please visit this link and follow the prompts. As always, feel free to reach out to us via e-mail or messenger with questions or ways that we can also be praying for you!
