Happy Spring everyone! It is always a joy to see everyone be able to enjoy the return of warm weather on the East coast, and begin spending more time outside. While the heat and humidity of northern Costa Rica can be overwhelming at times, we know that we are so lucky spend the majority of our days outdoors enjoying the sunshine.
This past month we were so excited to celebrate the inauguration of our new church building! The construction of the new gym/multipurpose room has been going on for a few months now, and we praise God for the opportunity to open the doors two weeks before Easter Sunday. We had a wonderful worship service, followed by a time of fellowship and activities all together with our church family. This new building allows for much more space during services, for more people to be able to come and participate on Sunday mornings. It also has opened up space for our children’s Sunday school upstairs. We are so thankful that God has provided for this opportunity for expansion, and we pray we will be able to utilize these new resources to better spread the good news of the Gospel and continue to build His kingdom! A big blessing to the ministry this month was a group from Indiana who came to serve for 10 days. This high school group was able to help us prepare for our big opening event, and shared with us and the church family in celebration and fellowship on this exciting day! They were able to finish a few painting and construction projects around the church, participate in our church Bible studies, and visit and interact with many members from the church throughout the week. It is always a blessing to welcome people who are excited and willing to serve in ministry.
This month we are celebrating a month of missions with our church. We have built a new connection with a family from a small town called El Jacote, and are happy to be able to support them and pray for them in their efforts to spread the Gospel. Please pray as God is opening doors for kingdom growth not only here in Santa Rosa, but in the surrounding communities as well.
We are looking forward to our much anticipated trip to Pennsylvania in just a few days! While travel and being away from home can feel overwhelming, we are so excited to spend time catching up with friends and family in the States. We will be holding a luncheon update at Keystone Church on Sunday May 21. This will be a great opportunity to share in more detail how the Lord has been working in the ministry here in Costa Rica, catch up with supporters, answer questions, and enjoy a meal together! We will be posting more details, and an opportunity to RSVP within the next few weeks.
We celebrated Jackson’s second birthday this week! We are so happy to watch him growing and learning each day, and praise God for this precious life we have been entrusted with. We look forward to many family and friends getting to meet our babies soon!
